French Climber Oriane Bertone Takes the Trophy in Prague

Oriane Bertone claimed victory in the dramatic women’s competition, repeating her success from 2023. She was joined on the podium by her compatriot Agathe Calliet and Japanese climber Melody Sekikawa.

In the semifinal, Bertone topped three out of four boulders and beat her teammate Calliet by 15.1 points. Sekikawa secured third place, narrowly ahead of Britain’s Erin McNeice.

Unfortunately, the weather impacted the rest of the event. Due to adverse conditions and the inability to guarantee the safety of athletes and spectators, a joint decision with IFSC officials led to the cancellation of the women’s final. Final rankings were therefore based on the results of the morning semifinal.

Bad weather complicated the organization of this year’s Prague round of the IFSC Climbing World Cup throughout the weekend. Nevertheless, five out of six scheduled rounds across both competitions were successfully completed.

The World Cup will return to Prague from June 4 to 7, 2026. This time, the program will include not only bouldering but also lead climbing.
