After three editions held at Letná, the world’s climbing elite will once again return to Prague, this time in a brand-new location. From 3 to 7 June 2026, the next edition of the IFSC World Cup in Sport Climbing will take place on Štvanice Island. In addition to bouldering, this year’s programme will also include lead climbing.
The move to Štvanice will bring a fresher and more attractive environment, offering visitors not only a more intense fan experience but also comfort in any weather — whether it’s rain or strong sun, the venue is ready to ensure convenience for everyone. The festival atmosphere of Štvanice, combined with the World Cup, will create a unique setting that visitors won’t forget.
"Štvanice opens completely new possibilities for taking the event to the next level. We want to offer fans professional facilities, greater comfort, and an atmosphere worthy of world-class climbing. We believe this is the place where the World Cup can grow into one of the most attractive sporting events of the year,” said Jan Bloudek, President of the Czech Mountaineering Association.
This year’s edition will once again welcome the biggest stars of the climbing world, led by Czech legend Adam Ondra. Adam will perform in front of the Prague crowd in his signature discipline — lead climbing. His showcase discipline will take place inside the sporting ‘colosseum’ of Štvanice Stadium, while the bouldering competition will be held in the adjacent park. Adam will be joined by other members of the Czech national team, all eager to prove that Czech climbing ranks among the global elite.
"Moving to Štvanice is logical given last year’s issues with the wind. I like changes, and I’m looking forward to this one as well. I’m very happy that Prague will once again host not only the bouldering World Cup but also the lead World Cup. Our national team is stronger in this discipline, and I think a home event is a huge motivation both for the experienced athletes and the younger generation,” said Adam Ondra.
The organisers are currently awaiting final approval of the schedule from the International Federation of Sport Climbing, but the launch date of the first ticket wave has already been confirmed — it will take place on www.climbingworldcup.cz no later than 17 December, giving fans the chance to purchase tickets before Christmas.
Prague will become the centre of the climbing world for the fourth consecutive year — this time bigger, richer, and even more accessible. The World Cup promises five days of top-level sport, emotions, and an unforgettable fan experience, while also serving as a warm-up for the World Championships, which will be held in Brno in 2027.

Meanwhile, local hero Adam Ondra did not make it into the top eight in what was his final career appearance in the bouldering discipline.

A three-hour delay caused by severe weather didn’t stop the competitors from delivering excellent performances in the women’s qualification round. Five climbers topped all boulders, but the highest score came from American Annie Sanders.
