NOW IN PROGRESS

7. 6. 2025

Mejdi Schalck dominated the Saturday final.

The first highlight of the World Cup is now behind us. Despite the rainy weather, thousands of spectators did not miss the men's finals, which were dominated by 21-year-old French climber Mejdi Schalck. He topped all four boulders, leaving none of the other eight finalists any chance of winning.

Climbers had to top three times and also register a zone once to get on the podium. This was also achieved by Samuel Richard, the second representative of France, who took home the bronze. Sorato Anraku of Japan won the silver medal with the same number of points, but a better score.

'This victory really means a lot to me. I didn't qualify for the Olympics last year, so I see this success as revenge," said a delighted Schalk after the competition.

South Korea's Dohyun Lee entered Saturday's final with the goal of winning a Prague hattrick. However, he failed on the second boulder and didn't score a zone, meaning that after two victories in Prague, he finished in seventh place.

The IFSC Climbing World Cup will finished in Sunday's women's competition. Due to the weather forecast, the Semi-Finals will start at 9:30.
